Kia Ora! Nau Mai NzHikes! My name is Marky and I have spent the last 15 years working/playing in the spectacular mountains of New Zealand as a guide. Unfortunately, early in 2020 while cruising the turbulent Tasman Sea, on the rugged Fiordland Coast I was struck by the ships industrial fridge door. The damage to my hip flexor was server, and has required nearly a years worth of rehab and recovery time. Not long after my accident the world was thrust into chaos with the on-going saga of Covid-19. After so many years of adventuring in the mountains as often as possible, I was left with two options: A. Sit around and do nothing. or B. Relive my adventures, and also hopefully inspire others to venture out into the wilderness. NzHikes started with the “A Mish a Day” series, which now features over 200 tales of adventure from here in New Zealand, and also missions from other parts of the world. From easy hikes with the kids, to mountaineering expeditions, NzHikes is a great way to get yourself excited about heading into the outdoors, and having just as much (or more) fun as I do whenever I go on a Mish!!
